Recipe 1: Northern Fingers

Fried norther pike fish fingers

Ingredients

  • Vegetable oil

  • 2 lb skinless pike fillets

  • 2 eggs, beaten

  • 4 1/4 cups of salted pretzels 

  • 3 1/4 tbsp HP sauce

  • 3 1/4 tbsp beer

Instructions

Step 1. Place the pretzels in a plastic band and break them into finely crushed crumbs. 

Step 2. In a medium-size bowl, beat together 2 eggs, beer, and HP sauce with a fork until thoroughly mixed. 

Step 3. Cut pike fillets into 1-inch-wide strips and pat dry. 

Step 4. Dip cut strips into egg/sauce mixture, then place in bag with pretzel crumbs. Shake bag until pike strips are fully covered.

Step 5. Place pike strips on a cookie sheet and refrigerate for 20 minutes, allowing to dry.

Step 6. Heat 1/4-inch of oil in, a 12-inch skillet over medium-high heat. 

Step 7. Add pike strips and cook at least 3 minutes until golden brown, flipping them over once.

Step 8. Enjoy your masterpiece!

FRecipe 2: Grilled Northern Pike

Grilled Northern Pike Recipe

Ingredients

2 pounds of northern pike fillets

1/4 cup of lemon juice

1 dash of bottled hot pepper sauce

1/2 cup salad oil

2 tbsp parsley cut up

1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce

1 tsp paprika

1 tsp salt

Instructions

Step 1. Cut pike into 6 pieces.

Step 2. Combine lemon juice, salt, hot sauce, oil, parsley, and Worcestershire sauce in a bowl then mix for 15-20 seconds.

Step 3. Place the 6 pieces of northern pike in a shallow dish and cover with mixture. Marinate at room temperature for 30 minutes. Turn once and marinate for another 30 minutes.

Step 4. Once done marinating, take out pike fillets and set aside. (Do not throw out the remains of the marinade. This will be used later on.)

Step 5. Place fish in a well-greased broiler basket and sprinkle with salt. 

Step 6. Grill over medium-hot coals or grill setting Now use the leftover marinade for basting the pike fillets and turn.

Step 7. Grill for 5-8 minutes until the pike flakes easily with a fork.

Step 8. Sprinkle paprika, and enjoy your tasty pike!

Recipe 3: Oven-Baked Northern Tropic

Oven Baked Northern Pike Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 Five-inch wide pike fillets 

  • 1 tomato 

  • 1 mango

  • 1/2 red onion 

  • 1/4 stick of butter

  • 1 clove of garlic 

  • 1 lemon

  • salt

  • pepper

Instructions

Step 1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

Step 2. Cut two pike fillets 5 inches wide and place them in a shallow oven dish.

Step 3. Chop tomato, red onion, mango, and finely dice clove of garlic. Separate all ingredients evenly as they will be distributed across both fillets.

Step 4. Melt 1/4 stick of butter in the microwave and baste evenly across both fillets.

Step 5. Cut the lemon in half and squeeze one half for each filet, directly over the fish.

Step 6. Sprinkle salt, pepper, and garlic evenly across both pike fillets.

Step 7. Evenly distribute tomato, red onion, and mango on top of each filet.

Step 8. Place in oven and cook for 30 minutes.

Step 9. Take out your pike and let cool for 5 minutes.

Step 10. Enjoy your freshly caught fish!

Recipe 4: Nothern Pike Chili

Northern Pike Chili Recipe

Ingredients 

  • 1 lb of northern pike fillets, cut into one-inch cubes

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 1/8 tbs cayenne pepper

  • 1 tsp chili powder, or to taste

  • 2 tbsp parsley

  • 1/2 cup red pepper, diced

  • 2 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped

  • 2 14-oz cans crushed tomatoes

  • 1 14-oz can kidney beans, drained

  • 2 tbsp cornstarch

  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions

Step 1. Heat oil in a saucepan and add pepper, garlic, and onion. Saute until it becomes slightly brown. 

Step 2. Add remaining ingredients except for the fish.

Step 3. Cover and simmer until the mixture begins to thicken, occasionally stir to keep it from sticking to the pan.

Step 4. Add fish and let simmer for 10 minutes until the pike is fully cooked.

5. We recommend serving with steamed rice and fresh bread.

Recipe 5: Cajun Styled Pike

Cajun Northern Pike Recipe

Ingredients 

  • 2 tbsp crab boil seasoning or Old Bay seasoning

  • 1 1/2 pounds of pike fillets cut into cubes

  • handful of fresh shrimp and/or small scallops

  • 3 strips of diced smoked bacon

  • 2 cloves of garlic, crushed

  • 2 tbsp. onion

  • 1/3 green pepper, 1/3 red pepper and 1/3 yellow pepper sliced into thin strips

  • 2 sticks of butter

  • 1 tsp Cayenne pepper

  • 1 1/2 tsp Grey Poupon mustard

  • 1/4 tsp dried basil

  • 1/4 tsp dried thyme

  • 1/4 tsp dried oregano

  • 1 - 5 squirts Tabasco sauce (be careful now)

Instructions

Step 1. Preheat the oven to 375 F.

Step 2. Saute the bacon, garlic, and onion in a skillet until the onion starts to become translucent.

Step 3. Add red, green, and yellow peppers and stir it around the skillet.

Step 4. Add the butter, cayenne, mustard, basil, oregano, thyme, Tabasco, and crab boil. Simmer for 3 minutes.

Step 5. Add the cubed shrimp and pike. Stir and simmer for another 3 minutes.

Step 6. Transfer to a baking dish and cook in the oven for 15 minutes.. 

Step 7. Impress your friends and family with your tasty dish!
